“Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band 21st Anniversary Concert!”
Featuring the music of their resident composers.
Celebrating 21 years of developing and presenting new music for big band.
Since 1997, Diane Moser’s Composers Big Band has presented over 100 guest composers and guest performers.Their musical offerings have ranged from: straight ahead Jazz to Latin, Indian Ragas, Funk, Blues, Experimental and everything in between. Many projects have included poets, actors, electronics, film, Soundpainting and even a Jazz opera! Homage is paid to great composers of the past by playing the music of Charles Mingus, Oliver Nelson, George Russell and Jaki Byard. Their annual October peace concert, “Tribute to Daniel Pearl World Music Days” is always a special concert.
The CBB is a dedicated group of musicians and composers who come together with the mission of exploring and going forward with big band music.
The members of the CBB include:
Saxes: Ed Xiques ,Rob Middleton, Marty Fogel , Barbara CifellI, Craig Yaremko, Tom Colao
Trombones: Erick Storckman , Ben Williams, Matt Haviland , Dennis Argul and guest Lolly Bienenfeld.
Trumpets: Mike Spengler, Jim Cifelli , Chris Rogers, Rob Henke
Rhythm Section: Diane Moser-piano, Larry Maltz-guitar, Andy Eulau-bass, Scott Neumann-drums
Their resident composers include:
Dennis Argul, Barbara Cifelli, Jim Cifelli, Marty Fogel, Matt Haviland, Rob Henke, Rob Middleton, Diane Moser, Chris Rogers, Erick Storckman,Russ Vines, Ed Xiques, and Craig Yaremko.
