Iran and America finally on the same bandwagon. Iranians, Americans…Americans, Iranians listen to each other carefully with respect!!!

Salam!

Yes, baleh, yes, baleh…it happened finally this week:  President Obama spoke with Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian president, over the phone. My two presidents broke a 34-year freeze of no direct communication!  I don’t care who initiated this telephone conversation, and I don’t care about the content of this conversation. The fact that the two gentlemen talked with each other is a great step towards breaking down the wall between the two countries: L’ Iran and L’ America.

Flag_of_the_United_States.svgThe slogan is: NOW or Never! Both nations, I mean the Iranian and the American people have NOW a great chance to tell their governments what to do in this matter, right? Iranians missed a big chance which was created by the so-called GREEN MOVEMENT in 2009. Now they got their the second chance with Mr. Rouhani “… expressing hope that his trip would be a “first step” toward ending Iran’s international isolation and decades of animosity between “the two great nations of Iran and the United States of America…” The Iranians should take him at his word and stand 100% behind him.

Maybe I sound idealistic, naive or stupid,  but I still believe in the power of organized people who are involved in grassroots movements. Only a grassroots movement can challenge the state and national parties. The only way to make both countries “friends” is by popular participation of the people of the two countries. Am I idealistic?

But something I would like to remind you: Mr. Rouhani doesn’t speak for himself and what he believes in. The same for Mr. Obama. Both presidents are just puppets of a big organisation-corporation-powerful religious institution.

The next slogan is: WE, the common Iranians and Americans decide what is good for our countries and not our governments. They’re supposed to work for us and not against us! Am I still naive?

Khodahafez!

PS: in case I’m invited to play for the two presidents, I would play “Sohrab’s Shushtari” for them.
