Yutaka Oyama and Masahiro Nitta, leading figures in the tsugaru-shamisen scene who have their roots in Aomori and Hokkaido, epicenters of rich folkloric music; and the brilliant drum soloists Hide and Miho, who reunite and interpret Japanese percussion traditions in innovative ways.
