Musically and geographically, Natacha Atlas has always been an itinerant. The Anglo-Egyptian singer has spent more than a decade fusing electronic beats with North African and Arabic music, finding links between seemingly disparate musical genres, exploring new and different sonic settings and working with a wealth of like-minded collaborators from across the world along the way. The resulting body of work is both a triumph of true multiculturalism and a testament to the richness and accessibility of Arabic
culture.

The Bushwick label Daptone Records, long committed to bringing you the finest soul, funk, gospel and afrobeat sounds to be found on analog tape, trots out the family. With the unstoppable Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings-headlining. Backed by the Bushwick Phil, which started as a growing string section that recorded on all of the SJDK albums and was only a Duo on ‘Dap-Dippin’, a Trio on ‘Naturally’, a Quartet on ‘100 Days’ and a Sextet on ‘I Learned the Hard Way’. For this epochal moment in the great Brooklyn soul revival, the line-up will expand to include Timpani, Vibes, the String Quartet and Victor Axelrod (Ticklah, Antibalas) on Piano.

Swiss Chris (Switzerland) was the musical director and house drummer for the legendary Lyricist Lounge. He worked for multiple fundraiser and charity events with the political activist group Earthdriver. He’s played at Madison Square Garden for a Mumia Abu Jamal Benefit (with a All-star cast). Swiss Chris was also the musical director /drummer / programmer for Mexicano 777 (featuring KRS One and Mad Lion) and Bazaar Royal (MTV appearance). He toured Eastern and Western Europe with the legendary James ‘Blood’ Ulmer (Blues/Jazz). He performed at the Apollo Theater with Billy Cox (Jimmy Hendrix, Band of Gypsies) and Ladell McLinn, Jessica Care Moore and Imani Uzuri. Swiss Chris is the founder and head of the S.W.I.S.S. Organization, Saving With Instruments, Samples and Sounds. One of the organizations programs is to collect used instruments to help in the spread of communication through music for betterment of the world. 
Tonight Swiss is presenting DJ Belinda Becker and many special guests.
