1.Roberto’s Winds Jazz In Times Square Calendar of Events

Roberto’s Winds is happy to announce the Jazz in Times Square series is resuming this month, starting March 15th and going every Monday through April 26th.

Times/Artists: 8pm Brandee Younger Group
About Brandee Younger: a versatile musician who has been proven to defy genres and labels, this young harpist has created a unique niche in both traditional and non-traditional harp arenas. Performing mainly on a concert grand classical harp, Ms. Younger is often heard performing jazz, classical and hip-hop in a seemingly effortless manner. The line up is: Brandee Younger on harp, Dezron Douglas on bass, Curtis Torian on drums and Greg Tardy on tenor sax.
10pm Sam Newsome Trio. The line up is: Sam Newsome – sax, Jean-Michel Pilc – piano, Ugonna Okewgo – bass and Alvester Garnett – drums.

Scissormen’s Blues at the Delancey (NY)!

Taking the stage at almost 11pm, Scissormen were an act worth waiting for this Saturday at The Delancey. Front man Ted Drozdowski lit up the room with guitar pyrotechnics and a sense of fun often absent from live music in New York. Drummer Larry Dersch kept the beat behind him and cemented their stripped-down sound. The Scissormen’s repertoire of North Mississipi Blues channeled the trance-inducing grooves of departed bluesmen Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside directly to a Lower East Side basement.
