This morning I read the Saturday issue of the New Times and found out that two members of the Moscow based activist group Pussy Riot visited New York last week. How could DooBeeDoo miss them???
They came to help promote the HBO documentary film “Pussy Riot: A Punk” and meet their friends and supporters here. The film was shown at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema on the Lower East Side last Wednesday. And the film was broadcasted yesterday. As you can imagine the film tells the Pussy Riot story.
During their short stay they appeared at the feminist bookstore Bluestockings, met leaders of the Occupy Wall Street movement and organizers of Brooklyn’s Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, and checking out the Judy Chicago’s feminist installation The Dinner Party at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
