Steve Dalachinsky is a legendary New York downtown poet. He is active in the free jazz scene. He was born in Brooklyn, New York. He has been writing poetry for many years and has worked with such musicians as William Parker, Susie Ibarra, Matthew Shipp, Roy Campbell, Daniel Carter, Sabir Mateen, Mat Maneri, Federico Ughi, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Rob Brown, Tim Barnes, and Jim O’Rourke. Tonight he and Jazz sax legend Dave Liebman (Miles Davis) are going to surprise yiu with words and sounds.

 Susmit Sen is a leading acoustic guitar player and founder of the most well known Indian band called ‘Indian Ocean’. His music has nurtured the young generation in India and continues to enthrall listeners from around the world. His style of music has been compared to that of Jerry Garcia and John McLaughlin.  He is s self taught musician and has invented his own style of playing the guitar. His music is influenced by Indian Classical and folk tunes.

4. Burkina Electric

Born in Burkina Faso and grew up in Cote d’ivoire, Mai Lingani is one of the most popular singers and song writers in her Native Burkina Faso,West Africa. She is also distinguished internationally for her innovative interpretations of modern and traditional music. Mai’s international carrier regularly takes her back to Europe, Africa and the U.S. In 2004, Mai Co-founded the groupe Burkina Electric with her longtime associates, Lukas Ligeti, Wende, Kurt, As and Viky. An ensemble of African and European musicians and dancers that the New York Times called an irresistible brew of west African music and electronica.

Marc Ribot (pronounced REE-bow) was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1954. As a teen, he played guitar in various garage bands while studying with his mentor, Haitian classical guitarist and composer Frantz Casseus. After moving to New York City in 1978, Ribot was a member of the soul/punk Realtones, and from 1984 – 1989, of John Lurie’s Lounge Lizards. Between 1979 and 1985, Ribot also worked as a side musician with Brother Jack McDuff, Wilson Pickett, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Chuck Berry, and many others.
