I’m Joanie Leeds and I have the best job on the planet!I write and perform kids music with my band, Joanie Leeds & The Nightlights rocking out at schools, music festivals, performing arts centers, museums & rock music venues across the country. I have released 5 CDs and 1 DVD to date and our songs are heard on many radio stations across the country including Sirius/XM Kids Place Live. Our CDs have been giving top honors and put on various “Best Kids CD” Lists – People Magazine, Parents Magazine, Washington Post, NY Post, Time Out NY Kids…
WHY AM I PRODUCING THROUGH KICKSTARTER…AGAIN!?
Our last album, ‘Bandwagon’ was Kickstarter Funded and once released…it was chosen as People Magazines Best Kids CD for 2013 and won The USA Songwriting Contest! The album was a huge success because of you! With the funds raised, we were able to pay for most of the costs for the album. I was also able to release 14 music videos (I would have never been able to do that completely out of pocket) Looking back at the process, I realize that it is the BEST way to get our fans involved, spread the word about our CD and get everyone excited about the project BEFORE it is released. We want to involve fans in what we are doing every step along the way and offer personalized products and experiences to everyone, no matter how far away you live.
For ‘Good Egg’, we’ve started with a minimum goal of $20,000 and we’ve come up with a pretty sweet rewards for anyone who pledges within the 30 day campaign. For those of you who aren’t familiar with how Kickstarter works, if we don’t reach our goal of $20,000, we don’t get ANY of the money (you won’t get any of your prizes and your credit card is refunded)- That would be so sad for everyone. Let’s NOT let that happen. Every dollar counts and spreading the word is crucial. We can do it!
