Composer Adam Rudolph returns with another series of Go: Organic Orchestra to Shapeshifter. In concert he will conduct between 20 – 35 musicians in a spontaneous way, using a newly created score of music/letter grids, language themes, tone rows, traditional and synthetic scales, diadic and intervalic harmonies, The compositions will also utilize Rudolph’s rhythm concept of “Cyclic Verticalism” to generate form and weave what he calls an “audio syncretic music fabric”. The music is “organic” in the sense that the compositions and conducting exist as an inspiration and context for the musicians to express themselves by using their instruments as an amplifier for their inner voice.

Timucin Sahin has been recognized as one of today’s truly unique voices of contemporary jazz music by publications such as San Francisco Bay Guardian, AllaboutJazz, Jazzwise and Jazz-Times as well as by many others.
Both his compositions and his playing on his double-neck guitar – his trademark – radiate an incomparable individualism.
Timucin Sahin, born in Turkey, immigrated to Holland as a young man to study jazz guitar and classical composition in Hilversum and Amsterdam. Then he continued his studies at the Manhattan School of Music. He played and/or recorded with Randy Brecker, Greg Osby, Robin Eubanks, Kai Eckhardt, Mike Mainieri, Mark Turner, Tony Moreno, Aydin Esen, Gene Jackson, Dave Kikoski, Ernst Reizeger, Armando Gola, Owen Hart Jr, Donny McCaslin, Tyshawn Sorey,Thomas Morgan,Sean Rickman,Concertgebouw Jazz orchestra, to name a few.

HOT & COLD. A collaboration between guitarists Aaron Dugan and Anders Nilsson who share affinity, an instrument, and a birthday. Their musical process is one of total democracy with lots of fun writing sessions bouncing ideas back and forth.
Hot & Cold recently released the album Hogwild Manifesto featuring suite-like electric guitar duo music traversing a lot of terrain. This performance will premier works expanded into quartet with bass and drums aces Sean Conly and Tim Keiper (Beat the Donkey). On Thursday, April 25, Downbeat Rising Star Sylvain Leroux will present a live performance of his latest project “Quatuor Creole” featuring legendary vibist Karl Berger. Underground Horns is a Brooklyn-based brass band playing Afro Funk, Bhangra & New Orleans grooves and beyond. AllAboutJazz called their 2009 debut record Funk Monk“kick-ass dance music…that brushes up against psychedelia…with shots of funky brass juice.” In 2010 they recorded their second album Big Beat which The New York Jazz Record’s Ken Waxman called “an unapologetic party band with brains…with tonal inflections from the Big Easy, central Africa, the Maghreb and the Baltic states.” Underground Horns has performed internationally in Egypt and Germany. Here in New York they’ve made people dance in subway stations, parks and at their numerous dates at venues ranging from Nublu to Lincoln Center, Barbes to Brooklyn Bowl, not to mention last year’s sold out show at 92YTribeca. The band has also played as a marching band, namely at the spectacular NYC Village Halloween Parade.

Macedonia’s famed multi-generational 12-member Kočani Orkestar, one of the funkiest Balkan brass bands around, displays a thunderous trademark style that has made it one of the most popular Gypsy groups in Europe and the US. Acclaimed for its powerful rhythm section (drummer and four tubas) and passionate solos (sax, trumpet, clarinet, accordion), this celebrated ensemble performs music descended from Ottoman Empire army bands. The dance party will open with the intoxicating sounds of New York’s hot Sazet Band headed by the dynamite combination of clarinetist Sal Mamudoski and saxophonist Romeo Kurtali.
