J4JA again in action: when are all jazz musicians ready to boycott jazz clubs like the Blue Note & the Village Vanguard?!!!!

Justice_4_Jazz_ArtistsJustice for Jazz Artists will be out in force again on Thursday night, June 27 as they continue in their push to convince NYC nightclub owners to do the right thing and meet with us to discuss pension and other issues of fairness for musicians who work in their venues.

  • Dozens of jazz musicians retire every year with little or no assets, no social security, and no retirement benefits.
  • Jazz clubs continue to record performers live in their venues with impunity. Side performers in particular have no say in what happens to these recordings, which can be sold to the highest bidder with no protections for new or future use.
