Drummer, improviser, and experimenter Ravish Momin is the guiding force behind Tarana, and on his latest EP, After The Disquiet, his jazz, world, Indian, and electronica roots are mixed with violinist Trina Basu’s plaintive strains and pulsing lines. The anthology Blues & Chaos: The Music Writing of Robert Palmer edited by Anthony DeCurtis and published by Scribner is now out in paperback. In honor of the paperback, Robert Palmer’s daughter Augusta Palmer and partner Chris Arnold made the Youtube video below about the book , which features a great interview with Mr. DeCurtis.

The victors from Scotland celebrated this year’s Homeless World Cup in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower with yelps and jumps and drama worthy of Maradona or Messi or Beckham. The homeless, or formerly homeless, players from around the world gathered in the spirit of unity to fight hard on the field and show themselves, their families and the world that it’s possible to go from the deepest depths back up out of whatever tragic circumstances or bad decisions might have racked and changed their lives.
